My work as TRIO Club President
My goal as TRIO Club president is to collaborate on projects that are equally as fun as they are genuinely useful and socially impactful. Out clubs use of loud graphic design, guerilla marketing, and relevant language is key to our success in getting students engaged and in the door.

Gizmo Makerspace Colab Holiday craft event
- Partnered with the Gizmo Makerspace teaching students how to use industrial laser cutters and CAD software
- Students laser cut vinyl records, creating vector art to imprint upon them.
- Used felting and textile equipment to customize clothing and make “ugly sweaters”
- First maker space (Gizmo) Colab-in school history
- Provided NIC students with free, high quality materials to create quality gifts for their family while also teaching them professional skills

Ugly Sweater Runway show (Dec 2018)
- Gave away scholarships
- Got tons of sweaters donated for the winter
- Demonstrated student success and creativity

Pop-Up Thrift Store (Dec 2018)
- Response to the many donated sweaters and other items, we enacted a pop up thrift store in the main building of NIC
- Received hundreds more donated items
- All items free for NIC students
- Provided warm clothes and hygienic items for the coming winter
Developed funding for and implemented a TRIO Club “Free Healthy Lunch” system
- Provided all TRIO Club members with free lunches and take home bagged meals every other Wednesday
First Generation Student Day
- Had more than 60 members of the NIC community, first generation students attend a celebration of their struggles and success
College Math Study Groups
- Created a blueprint for College math study Groups with the Cardinal Learning Commons Study Center
- Organized tutors, practice tests, discussions times, and catered food for math class
- Students who participated in the group saw higher test scores after subsequent tests
- Helped redesign study tools for math professor MJ Gabiou

Math Anxiety workshop
- Hosted by Kristina Klaussen, the writer of Study Sense
- Developed “meal tickets” marketing for the event
- Free food tickets attached to every poster & handed out by teams of TRIO club members
- Meal ticket concept increased workshop participation 300%

Big Money Scholarship Workshop
- Created all the marketing for the event
- Innovating QR code “dollar bills”
- Got teams of students to go into every building on campus and pass out the dollars and stick them in nooks and crannies
- Set up the sign in systems and surveys
- Highest student scholarship participation in school history
TRIO Club Community Conversations Series
- Brought in faculty from across campus to share what they do and what recourses they offer to students
- Gave attending students the opportunity to discover the kinds of support they have available, and an opportunity to engage with head staff and faculty one on one
- In response to the lack of effective cross campus communication, and the number of important services NIC offers that students are not aware of


TEDx CdA @ NIC
- First student lead TED event in NIC history
- Salon style event with engaged discussion on the topic of FEAR
- Broad attendance from students, faculty, and people from the NIC community
Live, interactive mural for Emerge CdA
- Developed and interactive mural for Emerge’s 2019 Pop Up Show
- Viewers could add their own artwork while I worked
- 50’ x 5’ flat canvas
Emerge Comic-book & Zine workshop for first annual Coeur d’Con 2019
- Taught participants how to build and illustrate their own comic books and zines

Homeless CdA: Homelessness Awareness Week
- Collaboration with Stanford Universities Virtual Human Interaction Lab & Gizmo CdA
- Hosting of VHIL’s Becoming Homeless VR experience
- Partner with Gizmo’s VR lab to invite NIC students and local residents to experience immersive VR
- Live talks from speakers with first hand homeless experience (students and community members)
